Fireworks are shot from the Pier every Friday here during the summer. This was photo was shot yesterday. Unfortunately it was a bit foggy, which may be great for some pics, but not for most. I prefer a clear sky. This shot was taken in bulb mode with a cable controller. Whitebalance was preset on a grey card, which is not quite as it's supposed to be, but it's a quick way to get consistent colors, and it works for me, so blah. From experience I can tell you that the Auto Whitebalance of the D70s in these extreme conditions can sometimes present you with disappointing colors.

Anyway, these waterthings are really great. The explosion is so powerful you can feel it and the golden streaks of light reach so high. Pretty intense.
